About us

Welcome to Caterham Pumas Youth Football Club. We're a community based football club run completely by volunteers. The club strives to offer football to players of all abilities from the age of 4-18 years old.

We currently have 32 teams and one adult team and are looking to increase our numbers this season by developing more teams within our younger ranks.

A message from our chairman

This season will again bring its own challenges, our main aim is to ensure that both the players and the parents enjoy being part of the club.

Caterham Pumas Youth Football Club is a thriving football club based in the leafy town of Caterham Surrey. The club caters for girls and boys from ages under 7 to under 18 and competes in both the Epsom & Ewell Football league on Saturdays and Surrey Youth Football league and Surrey Women’s and Girls League on Sundays throughout the season in mini, 9 a-side and 11-a-side soccer.

The club is a Charter Standard Club recognised by the FA – an accreditation that proves commitment to football and development within a positive and encouraging environment. The club provides access to fully qualified FA level 1 and 2 coaches - all of whom are CRB checked and fully proficient with first aid and child welfare certifications.

This is a friendly family club with ‘football for all’ at its heart. No child is refused the right to train and become a club member, regardless of ability.

Founded in 1998, Caterham Pumas YFC is starting to reap the benefits of its commitment over the past few years in its development for all children. Joliffe Playing Ground (behind the Fox Pub) is home to the club and has always been known as a friendly environment for opposing teams to visit, but is also now fast becoming a venue where teams know they will face a competitive match.

Discipline on and off the field is extremely important to the club and we have a zero-tolerance policy for any display of inappropriate behaviour from players, coaching staff or spectators. This is proven by our disciplinary record over the last few years.

The club has always supported the FA’s drive to make football available to the masses and to encourage respect within the game. We have continued to accept children of all abilities as members, understanding that children are all individuals and development happens at different rates (today’s less talented player will be or could be tomorrow's future star).

Choosing your child’s football club should be a serious matter. Consideration of Charter Standard and an understanding of the standards required and the club’s culture is vital. To understand more about Charter Standards please go to the official FA website.

Caterham Pumas YFC presents great value for money with subsidised club fees and will be committed to your child’s development in a positive enthusiastic manner. Youth facilities in any town are essential and Caterham is no exception. Our club is run and funded by local volunteers and the club is always looking for help, sponsorship and support.

If you’re interested in joining one of the teams, please contact the respective coach for more details. Alternatively, why not come along and watch our younger teams play on a Saturday morning or come along to our Mini Soccer School every Sunday morning at Joliffe Playing Ground to get a sense of what we are all about?

I look forward to meeting and speaking with you over the coming season.

Mike Mihalop
Chairman
